About

Arman has been a professional photographer for over forty years. Born in Iran, he discovered the power of images at a young age: as a teenager, he worked in a darkroom developing war film rolls for photojournalists in Tehran. This intense early exposure to photography both documentary and emotional shaped his vision and rooted his commitment to an authentic and sensitive image.

After leaving Iran in 1985, he trained at ETPA in Toulouse, later teaching photography at the same school. His career then took him to New York, where he explored fashion photography, before returning to France to continue his personal and professional journey.

Today, Arman still works in commercial photography to support and sustain his artistic research, particularly in the botanical world. His style, often at the intersection of reality and imagination, is recognized for its originality and depth.

His work has been exhibited in venues such as the Château d’Eau Municipal Gallery in Toulouse, Galerie Nicolas Flamel and the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris, as well as internationally with solo shows at Seyhoun Gallery in Tehran, and exhibitions in San Francisco, London, New York, and in China (Tianjin and Changsha). Most recently, he presented his work at MIA Photo Fair in Milan.

His vision continues to evolve. Arman keeps exploring nature, light, and the transformation of images in a world oversaturated with visuals. His recent series Surreal Botanics reflects this inner journey: a desire to slow down, to see differently, and to resist visual repetition through a slow, sensitive, and committed photographic practice.
